Это означает не работает оконный менеджер. Открой первым окном консоль и запусти оконный менеджер, в xfce, вроде, xfwm. Возможно надо будет добавить опцию –replace

pacman -S xorg

Всю группу переустановить

Второй очевидный совет - поправить в конфиге путь до модулей

synclient  -l
