Зависание Awesome WM

Всем привет, давно использую Awesome WM, но периодически бывает что awesome подвисаеь, причем окно которое было активным в момент зависания, работает, просто awesome перестает реагировать на хот кеи или любые другие дейсвтия мои. Замечал это как на проприетарных дравах radeon так и на открытых. Система может прорабоать несколько дней и не зависать а может и дня не проработать. Помогает только грубый рестарт awesome (killall -9 awesome).

В dmesg вроде бы ничего такого нет, за исключением того, что постепенно идет снижение частоты дискретизации (по умолчанию 100000) 795006330050400 и падением в конце python2

На сообщения о снижении частоты дискретизации вообщем то при нормальной работе можно и забить - ядро автоматически определяет/устанавливает частоту дискретизации, которую можно/нужно использовать для нормальной работы ...
Но само по себе это говорит о том, что процессор/система нагружены и в данном случае я бы порекомендовал помониторить температуру проца, нагрузку проца и.т.п. ….. что то нагружает процессор и он пытается снизить производительность ….... возможно причина и в железе, но я бы не сказал, что причина в самом awesome.
Можешь погуглить по параметрам perf_event_max_sample_rate и perf_cpu_time_max_percent ….. иногда с ними и играются, но, мое мнение, вряд ли это поможет.
UPD значения этих параметорв по дефолту
$ cat /proc/sys/kernel/perf_event_max_sample_rate
100000
$ cat /proc/sys/kernel/perf_cpu_time_max_percent
25
PS.... Это у тебя ноутбук? …. уж очень долго работает без выключения. Попробуй все-таки чаще выключать.

У меня на стареньком ноутбуке иногда эта частота падает почти на порядок вроде подвисаний нет … проц ничего не грузит

После перегрузки все вернулось на место

И я грешу на свое старое железо …. какой то элемент не совсем в порядке....... Но забил — работает и работает … ничего не виснет … временами правда подтормаживает, но уже к этому привык.
А вот тебе, конечно, нужно разбираться.....

PS .... И все-таки причина у тебя не связана с этим ..... а в другом - слишком большое время между последним снижением частоты и падением python2 ... а вот почему он у тебя упал .... неизвестно .... и это последняя запись в dmesg ... смотри логи

А конфиг сильно наворочен? Такое бывает, если какой-то синхронный вызов долго обрабатывается.
Конфиг нафорочен, в пределах разумного, ничего сверхъестественного в нем нет. Касательно нагрузки, ничего высоконагруженного нет, браузер да скайп, еще nginx но он локальные запросы обрабатывает в режиме тестов разрабатываемого приложения, так что он тут тоже вроде не при чем. Буду ковырять, еще в сессии нашел ошибку касательно pyopenssl ему не хватало кое чего, доставил понаблюдаю что и как. Спасибо.

Я повторюсь. У тебя есть там синхронные вызовы? Скажем, тянет погоду из интернета? В 99% случаях такие вызовы являются причинами зависания awesome.
Короче косяк все же в конфиге. На дефолтном пока проблем нет.

Да есть, но что бы зависало так что ничего кроме рестарта awesome ? Это как-то странно, посмотрим что нам 4 версия принесет.

Но вот у меня есть такой баг на чистом кофиге, у меня два монитора, графические приложения отображаются нормально, а вот терминал (urxvt) отображается странно:



На скрине видно что справа и снизу отступы, слева и сверху такого нет, на графических приложениях такого тоже нет, даже не знаю куда копать.
